#links# The two day international conference on Protection of Child Rights started with the inaugural function on 3rd March 2019, with Prof. The Skinny: Carson and Banning might have had better teams, perhaps ones that split games in the same season, but we decided to go with a somewhat controversial pick for the tenth spot. Sylmar gets credit for routing the teams it should and beating the best teams in the L.A. Basin in the post-season. Having Price is also a major plus, as he was a 6-foot, 220-pound back with that rare combination of speed and power. He's a legit two-time all-stater and coach Engilman rode him verbally to push the rest of the players on the team. One advantage this team also has was its emphasis in the weight room and a defense full of big-hitters such as McGee and sure tacklers like Morgan. The Spartans didn't even have to use a potentially good passing game much, as Young was a big-play maker on offense, at safety and special teams. Sylmar went 86-18-2 between 1987 and 1995 and this was Engilman's best team.

Juniata at Moravian: Two teams both trying to move to 2-0 in conference play after victories in their openers. Juniata pulled out 1-0 win over Goucher, Moravian behind Arielle Caldas hat-trick won 3-0. These two teams met twice last season, with Moravian winning both meetings, including in the Landmark semifinals. Moravian is unbeaten in home conference games since conference inception, including postseason. While Juniata's offense has been inconsistent the defense has been stout, allowing four goals in last six matches.

Moravian: Greyhounds are off to one of the best starts in program history with an 11-4 record and having won three straight, their third win streak of at least three matches this year. Moravian has to deal with Susquehanna and Catholic on day one, and then take on USMMA on day two. The team has never finished better than 4th, lower than 5th. Moravian is second in the conference in nearly every statistical category, both offensive and defensive, demonstrating their excellent balance. Christine Pool has been the top playmaker in the Landmark with her conference-best 10.04 assists per match while she also ranks third in aces.

In many of its NCAA Tournament runs Juniata volleyball has not had a true rival within its region. This year, however, was shaping up for the possibility of another showdown with Eastern University, which has been ranked in the top-10 most of the season and against who Juniata already has played two tough matches. But the bracket shook out differently with Eastern heading down south to Christopher Newport. Juniata will actually be on the road themselves for a rare occasion, as Frostburg State hosts the regional for the first time.
